Ricotta Stuffed Bento (404)

Heeellllloooooo, everybody!  I hope this post finds you doing well on a lovely, but muggy Louisiana day that is today.  I apologize now for this picture.  It needs help.  The jumbo meatball deal on the left hand side is out of focus, and the egg on the bottom right is blown-out to a point where all you see is a big blur of white.  I’m playing with my camera settings a bit, for two reasons.

First, I recently read this article on Pioneer Woman Photography about Aperture Priority mode.  I’m normally not one to allow my camera to choose any of its own settings.  Reading this post on such a big blog sort of surprised me.  It seems a way to not help teach people to learn to use their camera’s.  Maybe that’s a bit of camera snobbishness on my part.  Thinking about the article though did make me realize something, and it leads to the second reason I’m playing with my camera settings this morning.

I pulled out one of my other lenses and used it to take this morning’s picture.  I’m planning a vacation (first one I’m taking by myself  in 7 years, woot woot!).  I am not going to have the time, opportunity, or inclination to fiddle with settings while out and about.  I’ll need to use one of those priority modes. As well, there is no way I’m bringing my beloved macro lens with me on my vacation.  My other lenses yes.  But not my baby!

All this to say that the pictures coming in the next few months on this blog might be a mish mash of quality as I strain to use my other lenses, something I don’t do nearly enough.

But what you really want to hear about is today’s bento right?  Right!

What we have is a jumbo meatball stuffed with herbed ricotta, an egg roll wrapper stuffed with roasted chicken and that same ricotta, green beans, and a hard boiled egg.  I have a package of carrots in the fridge at work already.  Woot woot!  Having a bento today is wondrougs.
