Today’s bento can’t get much better in the grand scheme of what’s in my fridge and available for packing. It’s beautiful. It uses the last of different things around the house, except for the salad. I have ALOT of that left for the rest of the week. And that bread? Homemade. By me. Last night. Deliciousness. My one issue is that I have a lunch packing problem, and I’m not referring to my obsession with Lock & Lock products. Or then again, maybe I am. Yesterday and today, my lunch packing has expanded slightly. I’m bringing yogurt again with a container of granola. That piece of bread went into a little baggie (wasn’t sure what else to put it in). And the bag from Lock & Lock that holds the two red boxes isn’t big enough to hold everything. What to do? Buy a lunch bag to pack all my days stuff in? I wonder if one of my larger Lock & Lock lunch bags (like from the 3-box Square Set) is big enough to hold it all. Too much you think? Decision, decisions.
As for what I’m carrying with me to work today, the bottom tier holds layers of honey baked ham (sniff, this is the last of it) and tamagoyaki along with my version of brabant potatoes. The top tier has salad and cucumbers. Instead of croutons, I’m eating that lovely piece of toasted, homemade bread. YUM! The yogurt and granola will probably become an afternoon snack as bread and orange juice was today’s breakfast.
For those interested, here is a pic of last night’s baked bread. It came out so beautiful I had to snap a quick picture on my camera phone and share on Twitter.
Be the bento everyone! I hope you have a great day!

That is indeed a lovely loaf of bread! I post my loaves on flickr too, so I can remember them. A bigger bag sounds like a good solution. I have several size totes that I use for the kids to accommodate their thermos too. Enjoy!

Thanks Sheri. I’m glad I’m not the only one that takes pictures of their bread loaves even if they don’t look all that different from time to time.
Email the recipe for your bread please!

Emailing it to you today.
I haven’t had tamagoyaki in a while. Thanks for the yummy idea. And homemade bread – nom!
As far as your “lunch packing problem”, I feel that it is totally worth having the right supplies to pack the right lunch every day. This prevents us from eating unhealthy foods that cost more on the run than we are investing in our great lunch-packing supplies!! Happy bento-ing!
Oh, Alicia, I love your thought process. I like someone who supports my obsession.
