I’m feeling soooo awesome tonight! Sometimes the gym does that for me. Wears me out yet revs me up at the same time.
With all this energy, tonight is a good night for posting. As you may (or may not) have guessed, I have some catching up to do! With the switchover from one blog to another and the holidays, I am BEHIND on posting. Be on the look out for 2-3 new posts in the next few minutes.
Here is the first post. I had to share my cooking fun for my family’s Christmas get together. Every Christmas Day to the very beginning of my memory, my mother’s whole family gathers together at someone’s house. We laugh, we argue, we open presents, we stuff ourselves silly, and we generally enjoy each other’s company.
In the past, I’ve been regulated to paper plate and bottled soda duty. This means that I couldn’t cook so I brought the easy stuff. This year, I graduated to bringing cookies. These were AWESOME and of course are Recipezaar recipes. I swear, I’m starting to feel like a walking, talking ad for that website. Here we go…
These cookies are my downfall in life! I have already promised myself that I absolutely cannot make these cookies again until this time next year. They are sinfully delicious, came out tasting JUST RIGHT (like they came from a bakery right), and I consumed so many I lost count (but I still fit into my new pant size, yay!). This picture isn’t the best since it was taken in the wee hours of baking and not in the best light. But trust me, these cookies are slap-your-mama good! Make them and try them out before those New Year’s Resolutions kick in!
Another cookie I deeply enjoy are Scottish shortbread cookies. YUM! The only problem with these cookies is I think I left them in a little too long. But it didn’t seem to bother the cookie too much other than making it a little browner. I made a chocolate drizzle to go on top. They weren’t very attractive, but they did make the taste buds do the happy dance.
A few leftover cookies have been used in this week’s bentos. The last one will be consumed tomorrow <sniff>.
