Pictures for this post were lost in a blog shuffle many moons ago. If I ever find them again, I will post them! Sorry for the inconvenience
While this week may not have been the best for bento meal packing, it was great for baking! I did lots of baking for work, family get togethers and other such things.
My first great accomplishment was as loaf of bread. Now, don’t get to excited. A bread machine was involved. I’ve wanted one forever and finally purchased one. It is an exciting little machine. Here’s my first loaf of bread. Her name is Honey, since it was a loaf of honey wheat bread.
Isn’t it beautiful. Here it is ready to be cut and served:
And here it is in its first sandwich:
Ahhh, it was tasty, and so beautiful. Also, it is a great example of what I do at home when I’m not packing a bento. I use a small plate and pack it bento-style. I do this because I’m still accomplishing my health goals this way.
However, these don’t help my accomplish those goals very much. I made blueberry muffins with some fresh blueberries I had.
Can you see the butter in those?! They were tasty. No, I didn’t eat them all. I brought the whole batch to work for the people there to enjoy.

Great looking loaf of bread Jen, I can almost smell it from here I made my first loaf of bread in many years this past weekend. I have made a sourdough ‘bug’ so was more than thrilled when my first loaf came out perfectly!!
That bread looks really nice! I don’t typically use the bread I bake for sandwiches, but now I’m thinking that might be the way to go. :0) Honey wheat… yum!
