Last night, I had such plans. Make a deer stew. Make the crabmeat meuniere sauce, photograph, and show the recipe in the coming weeks on this site. Drizzle that meuniere sauce all over two pork chops I planned to broil for dinner and enjoy one heck of a dinner. But it was not to be. I came home to find the items I had removed from the freezer and placed in the fridge to still be rock solid. Apparently, 10 hours in the fridge while I was away from home and at work just wasn’t enough. BUMMER! Ah well, best laid plans and all that. I fed and played with the dogs while considering my options. In the end, I headed over to my favorite BBQ place, TJ Ribs, for dinner.
Today’s bento contains leftovers from TJ’s: bbq pork stuffed chimichange, and red beans. I stuffed in broccoli to have a bit of greenery and an orange for something sweet. It’s not what I planned, but it is a lovely lunch nonetheless. My plans have just been rescheduled for tonight instead. Tomorrow, I hope to have another great lunch.
I had several requests yesterday to share the recipes for the crawfish rolls and the meuniere sauce. Please know both are coming, but not for a few more weeks. The meuniere sauce will come in a special “Recipe Week” I am planning here at Not Exactly Bento for later in September. The rolls are part of a special project I’ve been hinting at and will be announced on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
In the meantime…Be the Bento, everyone! I hope you have a great Wednesday.

I look forward to the recipes
Thanks susan!
I’m a vegetarian but this looks ridiculously delicious! And now I want a chimichanga because of you. Ha!
Well thank you. I take that as quite the compliment. I bet you can make a cool bbq chimichanga from seitan or tofu though.
